ECHR / ECtHR decision support

Make drafts, decisions and replies stronger against current ECtHR standards.

Paste or upload a decision, complaint, draft or other case material. LexLitmus identifies relevant Convention issues, retrieves ECtHR authority, explains risks and can suggest improved reasoning or a draft response.

Two clearly separated offerings

We can perform the legal work for you — or provide the software to your organisation.

LexLitmus uses one shared legal engine, but Internal / Professional and Workspace are separate deployable products. Customers do not receive our internal consultancy administration.

A legal sparring partner

Move from “is this text defensible?” to “how should it be improved?”

Workspace is not only a risk detector. It helps the professional user move from analysis to action without taking over legal responsibility.

Analyse a draftSee which Convention rights, safeguards and proportionality issues the text raises.
Assess a complaintIdentify the complainant’s material human-rights grounds and the strongest counterarguments.
Improve reasoningGet specific suggestions for clearer, stronger and better-grounded reasoning.
Suggest revised wordingCompare original and proposed wording and see why the material changes matter.
Draft a responseGenerate a professional response to a complaint or objection with relevant ECtHR references.
Re-check edited textAfter the professional edits the draft, check it again against the legal assessment.

How it works

Analysis first. Drafting second.

This is a core design rule. The result preferred by the user must not determine the legal assessment.

01Add material

Decision, complaint, draft or supporting documents.

02Neutral analysis

LexLitmus identifies relevant rights, risks and missing information.

03Retrieve ECtHR law

Relevant judgments and decisions are retrieved from the maintained corpus.

04Assess compatibility

Supporting and adverse arguments are shown with uncertainty.

05Draft text

Improved reasoning or a proposed response is generated from the assessment.

06Human review

The professional reviews, edits and approves before use.

Neutrality

LexLitmus should not tell the user what the user wants to hear.

If a caseworker asks the system to “find reasons to reject the complaint”, that request must not flip the legal conclusion. The case is assessed first. Drafting then follows the assessment.

Appears compatibleThe system can explain why and suggest accurate wording.
Compatible with conditionsThe system identifies what should be corrected, evidenced or clarified.
Material legal riskThe system must not manufacture a defence; it should surface the problem.
Insufficient informationThe system must not invent missing facts or procedural safeguards.

Security & governance

Security is part of the product architecture — not an add-on.

Workspace is built as a separate customer product with technical controls for access, data processing, traceability and supplier access. We distinguish implemented controls from customer-specific or independent assurance.

Separate customer product

Workspace is built and packaged separately from LexLitmus Internal / Professional. Internal administration and development tooling are not part of the normal customer build.

Tenant and matter isolation

Organisations, users, matters, documents, analyses and drafts are protected by server-side access controls and cross-tenant regression testing.

Identity and least privilege

The product supports OIDC/SSO, role-based access and expiring access. Production deployments can be configured SSO-only.

Governed AI use

Workspace supports local-only processing. External AI can be disabled and is governed separately from the act of generating a draft.

Encryption and file controls

The architecture supports KMS-backed encryption, integrity controls, malware scanning and conservative quarantine/fail-closed policies.

Audit, retention and legal hold

Material actions can be audited. Retention is configurable and legal hold can prevent inappropriate deletion.

Backup and recovery

Backup/restore has been exercised in isolation. Organisation export and offboarding support customer portability.

Secure-by-design runtime

The tested backend runs non-root, Linux capabilities are reduced, and release gates check product separation, migrations and frozen-core integrity.

Supply-chain controls

The release process includes SBOM generation, dependency scanning, vulnerability handling and documented patch/incident processes.

Clear assurance boundaries. Workspace has been exercised in production-like staging with internal security and accessibility testing. We do not present internal testing as independent certification. Customer-specific DPO approval, independent penetration testing and external accessibility review remain separate assurance activities where required.
